Care for your solid surface tops
Routine care
- Water
marks: wipe surface with a damp cloth.
- Typical
stains: wipe with soapy water or ammonia-based cleaner.
- Stubborn
stains: gently scrub with abrasive cleanser and green Scotch-Brite pad.
- To
disinfect: wipe surface with 50/50 water/bleach solution.
Preventing Damage
- Hot
pans and heat-generating appliances: use hot pads or trivets with rubber feet.
- Boiling
water: run cold water into sink while pouring
- Exposure
to strong chemicals such as chloroform: and keytones (found as acetone in some brands of nail polish and paint brush cleaners)
avoid prolonged exposure, flush spills with plenty of soap and water
- Exposure
to stubborn cosmetics: remove with denatured alcohol, flush with soapy water.
Repairing Damage
- Removing
cigarette burns: scrub with abrasive cleanser and green Scotch-Brite pad.
- Removing
cuts and scratches on matte/satin finish: sand scratches with 180 or 220 fine grit wet and dry sandpaper until cut is gone.
Restore finish with abrasive cleanser and green Scotch-Brite pad. For a higher finish, sand with abralon sand paper wet
to desired finish 360 matte to 4000 gloss
- Removing
severe discoloration or etching caused by prolonged contact to strong chemical: same as above.
Repairing damage due to severe impact: consult your Corian Fabricator for assistance.
